My Religion

People generally consider me atheist, I never argue. However I believe in Him, not necessarily in or through religions. I remember Khalil Gibran's words: "Your daily life is your temple".

Saint Paltu (India) once said:
"Paltu oochi zaat ka matt koi kare hankar,
Sahib ke darbar mein Keval Baghat Pyar"
(Do not have pride of your caste, color or creed, to enter the house of the Lord requires only Love and Devotion".)

In the Bible, Saint John said:
"In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made." (John 1:1,2,& 3)

Friends

'Naa kaahu se dosti, na kaahu se vair'.

Life

The march of life is ruthless, relentless and remorseless. There is two-way traffic in all relationship of life. You love and like somebody, it is reciprocated. You dislike and hate, and it comes back to you. But life itself travels in a linear direction. It starts in a cradle and ends on a funeral pyre. There is no second chance, no trial ball. Life's march is inexorable.

As we grew older, softening of the system takes place. We became more cynical about all our fellow men and their promises, more disenchanted by the possibilities of each new day and often we are either too bruised by life's trials or too worldly and sophisticated, for the old words and dreams we no longer believe to be true...

Man has harnessed rivers. Scaled peaks. Can fly. Can walk on the moon, but unable to live on the earth. He is still not contended, happy and satisfied. Undergoes strain and stress. Toils. Still remains in turmoil. All kinds of problems confront him.

Today man claims to be civilized and cultured. He has certainly created creature comforts. Air-conditioned houses. Big cars. Fast movement. On earth and in air. Flies. Communicates quickly through email and cell phone. But he is still unhappy. Fighting unseen battles. All the time. Why?

The problems that he faces are essentially of his own creation. Today, many is not merely needy, he has become greedy. He looks for gold, not for God. For pleasure and not for peace. The so-called cultured man is like the cultured-pearl. Unreal and away from reality. He has become artificial and arrogant. He has gone away from nature. Pride is man's second sinister sin. The absence of passion for principles only add to the problems.

Thus a variety of factors combine to make man miserable. Resultantly, his smile is not sincere. He has no time to stand and stare. Is unable to laugh. Is rarely happy and relaxed. He builds a big house, then he looks for the fastest car to get away from his home. He raises. Then he makes missiles to ruin it. Man uses the fastest planes to destroy himself and his own creation. There is a characteristic contradiction between the apparent deed and the hidden design. Frugality ensures freedom. Greed can only bring grief. So one should discipline the mind and dispel the desires. Get rid of despair and disappointment. Forget the unfounded fears. Give up the greed. Live in the present. Enjoy every moment of it. Do not ruin it by worrying about the uncertain future. Renounce the love for riches. Become truly human and humane. Seemingly small things, but sure to give good results.

Stagnant thinking environment and stress of modern living has brought disorientation to the individual. People become melancholic exiles where lives become light in possession but heavy with memories. Most of the individuals start living in embers of feeble nostalgia.

Though time is the true narcotic for pain, either the pain disappears when it has run its course or a person learns to live with it, the painful memories and betrayals simmer. Most of the people take rant with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the great twilight zone that neither knows victory nor defeat. The river of life moves at its own pace taking the individual in its stride.

Problems are essential for human growth. In turmoil and crisis there is an opportunity. One should never have the miserable luxury of anxiety and despair.
It is important to deal actively and bravely with a painful experience, such as illness, death, divorce or a loss of job.

We must cultivate self-control. Self-control is not preached to kill the individual, but to add to its tempo in performance to its vision and to its brilliance in achievements. Mind is the chief factor governing the body - one should always avoid suggesting to the mind the thoughts of human limitations such as sickness, old age and death. Our present and future welfare depend upon ourselves. Let us never look outside ourselves for help. All our success entirely depends upon ourselves. Modern illness is not produced by bacteria or virus or by a new growth. It is produced by complex circumstances of daily living. Carrying a load of anger wastes your energy. It blocks communication. Learn to like people. Learn to say the cheerful humorous thing. Never say the mean thing even if you feel like doing so. Love life. Be grateful for it always. Show your gratitude by not shying away from its challenges. The solution to all our needs remain within us. Live only in present not in the future. Do your best today, do not worry for tomorrow.

These are the times that try men’s souls. – Thomas Paine

Most people see what is, and never see what can be. (ALBERT EINSTEIN (1879-1955))

NEWELL DWIGHT HILLIS (1858-1929), three enemies of happiness: Hurry, Worry, and Debt. I am fortunate to escape  a bigger portion of my life from all these factors.

"Silence is one of the hardest arguments to refute." - Josh Billings (1818 - 1885). Yeah, its true.

I asked for strength...
and God gave me difficulties to make me strong;

I asked for wisdom...
and God gave me problems to solve;

I asked for prosperity...
and God gave me brawn and brain to work;

I asked for courage...
and God gave me dangers to overcome;

I asked for love...
and God gave me troubled people to help;

I asked for favors...
and God gave me opportunities;

I received nothing I wanted but...
I received everything I needed to achieve what I wanted.

Darya ko Apni Mauj ke Tugianion Se Kaam
Kashti Kisi Ki Paar Ho Ya Darimian Rahe.
(The river is concerned with its flow, somebody's boat may cross or stay in mid-stream).
